What we do

The Research Unit for Veterinary Humanities and Social Science (RUVHSS) is an interdisciplinary research group that explores the diverse dimensions of animal health and disease beyond the biological framework. Our approach integrates historical, cultural, and social perspectives to understand veterinary and One Health issues comprehensively.

At RUVHSS, we investigate how society perceives animals, their health, and diseases, examining the broader implications of these perceptions. Our research aims to address key social issues related to veterinary medicine and One Health by proposing innovative and practical solutions.

In addition to academic research, our unit actively contributes to the development of animal policies and specialized educational programs. RUVHSS strives to foster a more holistic and socially responsible approach to animal health and welfare by bridging veterinary science with the humanities and social sciences.
